Track
"Wiedersehen im Café Porsche"
White noise is uncertainty made hearable, the manifestation of absolute audible contingency. At any time figures may arise from the unstructured sonic fog only to vanish in the very next moment. This track exclusively utilizes white noise and its opposite (in terms of certainty): silence.

"Rough'n'Ready"
Recorded two longer tracks (Where the rednecks stay up late/Nightfall on Planet Rock) on tape. Removed the magnetic tape from cassette and glued it onto different objects (like the cassette case, books, cds, chocolate bars, and so on).
Play back this tape using a loose magnetic head.

"Grand Entrances - Grand Escapes"
A self-recording record. Nearly blank in the beginning, it's the record player's needle that carves ever changing grooves into its surface. However, change might simply your illusion - as a result from listening to the same loops over and over again. Also played this at "die wüste lebt" in berlin (August 30th 2008) accompanying the record by circuit-bending a toy tape recorder.

All samples originate from "the freesound project". Furthermore, the piece's "score" is also derived from that website: starting with a random pick, i selected the least similar sound from the "similar sounds"-list to determine how to continue.

"Warum Leute, die ihre Ausführungen mit 'warum' beginnen, in der Regel nichts zu erklären haben"
Fuzzy soundtracks for fuzzy photos. Sounds recorded using my digicam's audio comment function. Only minimal processing applied. This track has also been released as a full-length cdr: a number of these recordings have been individually wrapped and put in public places, accompanied with a note that asks the listener to spread further copies.

"Idziemy na grzyby, stary!"
This is my personal interpretation of Reed Ghazala's anti-theory. Admittedly, not that inventive but I really had a blast circuit bending and besides it sounds quite psychedelic.

Contribution to "Symfoni kkkkkakafoni"
"No.2 69"
A collaboration with trikband for a project by Maria Norefors. Maria tore apart and re-assembled sheet music. The sheet music was to be interpreted by different musicians.
Apparently, the provided sheet of music is distorted almost beyond recognition. This piece, nonetheless, treats the given material as if it offered a coherent set of musical instructions ready for performance.
A number of robot bugs criss-cross the sheet of music guided by inbuilt photo and collision sensors. The former also serve the purpose of sensing the symbols printed on the paper surface. Photo sensor data is afterwards transformed into audible sound by the bugs.
At the same time, the fragments of lyrics in the lower part of the sheet are interpreted as the musical raw material, while the clutter of stave, notes and other symbols is regarded as the instructions on how to perform the raw material. Reading the sheet of music in the manner applied in this piece not only determines what to “play” at a given position but also how to move over the sheet vertically and horizontally afterwards. The red line indicates the path trodden during the example performance you can hear in the exhibition.

Contribution "Gamehenge"
"LittleFuryThings presents Gamehenge 09"
Contribution to a compilation by Litte Fury Things. And that's what Nat says about it:
"A mammoth compilation of 100 sound artists covering Phish's mythic Gamehenge album!! This massive collection of new artists offers a refreshing vantage point from which to consider Phish's psychedelic music tradition and to shed light on possible future avenues. The point of this release is to breath new, forceful vision into this modern piece of Americana mythology. 82 minutes of full color sound!!!"
Every sound artist was asked to record a cover version of a small portion of this album.
My recording is one of the last and was entirely played on a kazoo to imitate vocals, guitars and drums.

Contribution "Improvisation auf einer Brauseflasche"
"Improvisation auf einer Brauseflasche" (2009)
A contribution to a cd in honour of Mundkrach's 30th birthday. Musicians were asked to send in 30 sec. sounds they recorded at a specified time.
As I had just finished a bottle of lemonade, I played an improv on this object.

Release "Die Antizipation des Generalized Other" (SHMF-19+34)
CDr-release "Die Antizipation des Generalized Other"
My contribution to the ongoing remix-project of the same title by the prolific artist duo Mama Baer and Kommissar Hjuler. They recorded a cdr on which they read and discuss a text about George Herbert Mead and ask musicians to remix this recording.
I built kind of a musical instrument that works similar to Mead's concept of the generalized other. Two cassette recorders equipped with additional magnetic heads interact with each other. Past output of the one is taken on and modified as expectation by the other in its present output and vice versa.

The fifth very short track is intended to be loop, like a lock groove. I recorded the sounds for this last track using a contact mic i placed on the floor while playing the other tracks.
