bare-handed

This piece uses an analogue tape recorder and a single endless tape to create a virtually infinite series of musical miniatures (< 2 minutes each).
Each miniature "recycles" the material of its predecessor by partially manipulating and/or overwriting the sounds already recorded on the tape.
Any sounds may be introduced into the series, although old records (Platten) and banalities (Plattitüden) are highly recommended sources. Hence, choose carefully.
Recording / mixing does not have to be done in real-time or by a single person but on analogue recording gear exlusively. So, whatever happened actually happened.

sombre
Rather minimal music.
Only loosely related to the painting by Pieter Bruegel the Elder (above).

71 fragmente
When performing 71 fragmente:
- Use source material collected at youtube.com only.
Start with the notorious ping pong scene from Haneke's
71 Fragmente einer Chronologie des Zufalls. - Determine the next clip by picking from the related videos
list the one you deem the least related. Repeat this step
and consider the distance you have travelled. - Keep in mind that from a certain angle everything may
seem connected to everything else. However, from
another perspective, the same things can appear isolated
and the relations merely superficial.
The performance featured here utilises:
youtube.com, fostex multitracker, endless tape, canon x.07
